By The Crumblelead Team·Published October 15, 2026·Last updated October 15, 2026

We make Crumblelead, so this comparison is written by a vendor. Our sources for other products are listed at the end, with the date we checked them.

Choose Crumblelead if you run a perm-focused small agency and want every feature, including AI and Claude and ChatGPT connections, for $30 per user on month-to-month terms. Choose Crelate when you are a US staffing, search or direct-hire firm that wants a configurable ATS and CRM with client portals, US compliance reporting, audited SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 security, and a strong self-serve export.

Crelate is a US recruiting ATS and CRM founded in 2012 and based in Eagle, Idaho, backed by Five Elms Capital. It serves staffing, executive search, direct hire and in-house teams, and says it has served more than 25,000 recruiting professionals. Its pricing is published in US dollars and its compliance features, such as EEO and OFCCP reporting, are built for the US market.

How do Crelate's plans compare with Crumblelead's?

Crelate Essentials costs $85 per user per month, paid annually, and is capped at two users and 20,000 contacts. It includes the ATS, recruiting CRM, job portal, resume parsing, sourcing and unlimited jobs and companies. Business, Crelate's most popular plan, costs $119 per user per month on annual or monthly billing and adds the AI Assistant, client and team portals, job posting, reports and analytics, email connections and technical support.

Business Plus is custom-priced and adds automation and sequences, the advanced AI Assistant, the full API, webhooks and marketplace partners. Several extras carry an additional fee on any plan: email campaigns, text messaging, eSignature, contact data enrichment, sponsored job postings, the Crelate Hire onboarding module and a data sync service.

For five users, Business costs $7,140 a year. Five Crumblelead users pay $1,800 monthly or $1,500 annually, with AI and MCP included. That is a subscription difference, not equal scope: Crelate's client portals, US compliance reporting and configurable workflows have no Crumblelead equivalent.

Where is Crelate the better choice?

Crelate is the stronger option for US staffing, search and direct-hire firms of roughly five to fifty users that want a configurable ATS and CRM. It offers client portals, custom workflows, fields and activity forms, and US compliance reporting such as EEO and OFCCP, with optional onboarding through Crelate Hire and back-office sync for HubSpot, Salesforce and others.

Its security is audited: Crelate holds a SOC 2 Type II report and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, both audited by A-Lign, and runs on Microsoft Azure with geo-redundant backups. Crumblelead has neither certification yet. Reviewers also value its customisation once configured, and the fact that AI is bundled into plans rather than sold separately.

Where is Crumblelead the better choice?

Crumblelead fits the independent or small perm agency that wants AI and a linked desk at a lower price, without custom quotes. A team of three or four can use every feature, including the Claude and ChatGPT connection, on the same $25 to $30 plan. With Crelate, a third user moves you off Essentials, and sequences and MCP need Business Plus or Platform pricing.

Candidates, clients, contacts, jobs and placements connect in one workspace, with fees and fall-offs tracked against placements. Migration is free on any paid plan. Reviewers of Crelate mention a learning curve and reports that are powerful but hard to set up, so simplicity is a fair difference to weigh.

How do AI and the Claude and ChatGPT connections compare?

Crelate launched its Discover Agent in August 2025, a natural-language sourcing search across about a billion profiles from 30 to 35 sources, on every plan. Its AI Assistant summarises and drafts from Business upward. Crelate says its agents "do not decide who gets hired", a stance Crumblelead shares.

Crelate has an official MCP server that lets Claude or ChatGPT work with your records, with every agent action recorded in the audit log. It is available on Business Plus for select clients, or as an à la carte Platform option. Its website describes reading records, and its FAQ mentions acting on them; we could not confirm whether it can make changes. Crumblelead's built-in MCP server reads and writes on every seat. See which ATS platforms work with Claude and ChatGPT.

What happens to your data when you leave Crelate?

Crelate's export is one of the strongest in the market. From Settings, you can export all records and experiences, optionally with every attachment such as resumes and documents, as a full or incremental password-protected ZIP, available to download for 45 days. Business allows an export every 30 days and Enterprise every 15 days. Records are also available through the REST API.

Crumblelead migrates from Crelate free on any paid plan, typically in about a week. See how to switch ATS without losing data.

Where Crumblelead fits

We built Crumblelead for perm-focused independent and small-to-mid agencies that want one fast workspace for the whole desk, with AI taking administration off recruiters while they keep the relationships and judgement. Crelate is the better choice for US firms that need client portals, compliance reporting and audited security. Compare other options in our Crelate alternatives guide or browse all comparisons.
