JobAdder Alternatives for Small Recruitment Agencies

By The Crumblelead Team·Published October 15, 2026·Last updated October 15, 2026

Small agencies considering JobAdder alternatives should compare Manatal, Zoho Recruit, Recruit CRM, Loxo, Bullhorn and Crumblelead against the JobAdder plan their headcount puts them on. Switching makes sense when a replacement gives your team something it needs at a cost you can sustain; staying is sensible when SEEK, job board posting or temp compliance tooling keeps JobAdder central to your work.

JobAdder is an established, SEEK-owned ATS and CRM with a large partner ecosystem, so looking elsewhere is not a verdict on its quality. More often the trigger is fit: a five-person perm team on the entry plan, a renewal coming up, or a wish for AI tools the current plan does not include. Our Crumblelead vs JobAdder comparison goes deeper on the head-to-head.

Why do small agencies look at JobAdder alternatives?

JobAdder assigns plans by team size. Agencies with one to five users are on Recruiter Lite, which includes job board posting, a careers page, email sync and temp management, but not JobAdder's AI features, API access or phone support. Those start at Essential, from six users. A small team that wants AI assistance therefore has a reason to compare.

Commercial terms are the second reason. JobAdder sells annual contracts, billed monthly or annually, and does not publish prices. Recent user reviews also mention slower support and limited reporting flexibility, although the same threads include users praising its ease of use and SEEK integration. Treat those as questions to raise in a renewal conversation, not as settled facts about every account.

What does JobAdder cost now?

There is no published price, so any figure is an estimate. A UK user in a February 2026 Reddit thread confirmed paying £85 per user per month, and a reply described about £108. Several 2026 pricing articles repeat €124 per user per month on Essential plus a €550 implementation fee, from a source that can no longer be traced. Third-party estimates range from about US$95 to US$200 per user per month.

Your own invoice is the figure that matters. Compare it, plus any add-ons such as SSO or a Hiring Manager Portal, against the alternatives below for the same headcount and term. Our JobAdder pricing guide covers the plans and estimates in detail.

Six alternatives and the trade-offs

Alternative prices were checked on 24 September 2026, in USD per user per month; annual figures are monthly equivalents. This is a shortlist by use case, not a ranking.

Take the same job and a few authorised sample records into each trial. Test the work you do every day, then ask each vendor for the full commitment in writing: term, seat changes, add-ons and how you would leave.

BullhornStarter $99; Core $165Wider staffing platform and marketplaceWhich edition carries the AI you saw demonstrated
Crumblelead$30 monthly; $25 annual equivalentLinked perm desk, AI on every seat, monthly termsNo job board posting; not for temp back offices

Manatal if subscription cost is the main issue

Manatal deserves an early look when your needs fit its Professional limits of 15 jobs across the account and 10,000 candidates. A five-person team would pay $900 a year at the $15 annual rate. Count your normal live jobs before relying on that figure, and compare the next plan if you exceed them.

Zoho Recruit for a structured agency platform at a modest price

Zoho Recruit's Staffing Agency edition starts at $25 per recruiter per month annually on Standard, with 100 active jobs. The published comparison puts semantic search and two-way email sync on higher tiers, so price the tier that covers your desk rather than the headline rate. Our Zoho Recruit alternatives guide covers the options if Zoho is already on your shortlist.

Recruit CRM if calling and outreach workflows matter

Recruit CRM is worth shortlisting when built-in calling and communication workflows are part of your daily work. Its native MCP connection sits on Business and Enterprise. Its USD price could not be settled from its dynamic pricing page in September 2026, so ask for a written quote.

Loxo if external AI access is a priority

Loxo Core starts at $149 per user per month with annual payment upfront, advertised as a new-customer offer, and includes AI search and MCP. Check what its ordinary CSV export contains: it omits CVs and activity history, so ask how a complete retrieval would work.

Bullhorn if you are outgrowing a small-agency setup

Bullhorn publishes Starter at $99 and Core at $165 per user per month, with free implementation advertised for its small-agency plans. It suits agencies that want a wider staffing platform and marketplace connections, though the AI functions in its demonstration may sit on Pro. Our Bullhorn alternatives guide covers the trade-offs.

Crumblelead if your agency mainly runs perm desks

Our plan costs $30 per user per month, or $25 billed annually, with no seat minimum and cancellation without a fee. A one-to-five person team gets AI matching with evidence, semantic search, Crumble AI and a built-in MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT from the first seat. Migration from JobAdder is free on any paid plan and typically takes about a week.

We are not the right alternative if you post to SEEK or other job boards from your ATS, run a temp back office, or need a vendor with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 today. We do not offer those yet.

When staying with JobAdder is the right call

Stay when SEEK advertising drives your candidate flow, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, where its native integration is a real advantage. Stay if you depend on its partner ecosystem, which lists about 164 integrations, or on its temp compliance tooling and payroll partners. If your procurement requires ISO 27001, JobAdder holds it.

Also ask whether the problem is the platform or the plan. A team about to grow past five users moves to Essential, which adds JobAdder's AI, API and phone support. That may solve the issue without moving your database.

How do you leave JobAdder cleanly?

JobAdder deletes account data 90 days after termination. You can request a full backup before then through support, and backups are deleted two weeks after they are generated. Request the backup while your account is live, check that CVs, notes and placements arrived, and confirm your contract end date before you plan a cutover. Our guide to switching ATS without losing data covers the dry run and sign-off.

Where Crumblelead fits

We built Crumblelead for perm-focused independent and small-to-mid agencies that want one fast workspace for the whole desk, with AI taking administration off recruiters while they keep the relationships and judgement. FAQ

How do I get a full copy of my data out of JobAdder?

Ask JobAdder support for a backup before your account ends; it is not a self-serve download. Backups are deleted two weeks after they are generated, so check the contents promptly.

Can I leave JobAdder before my contract ends?

That depends on your agreement. JobAdder sells annual contracts, billed monthly or annually, so monthly payments do not necessarily mean you can stop after any month. Check the term and renewal date in your own contract.

Does JobAdder connect to Claude or ChatGPT?

We found no official JobAdder MCP server or native Claude or ChatGPT integration. Apideck offers a third-party beta connector covering jobs and applicants, which needs its own security review.
