Import from another ATS (CSV)

You can import candidates and clients into Crumblelead from a CSV file, which most ATSs and every spreadsheet can produce. CSV import covers candidates and clients only; for jobs, contacts, CVs, notes and placements, use our free migration.

Do we need to do this ourselves?

No. Migration is free on any paid plan: we map your candidates and CVs, clients and contacts, jobs and stages, notes, owners and placements, and load a dry run for you to check. Most teams cut over in about a week. See migration help. Use CSV import when you want to bring in a simple list yourself.

How do I export my data from my current system?

Each system is different. We have step-by-step guides for Bullhorn, Vincere and JobAdder. Export each record type to its own CSV file, saved as UTF-8 so accented names survive.

Which columns does Crumblelead read?

Candidates: First Name, Last Name and Email are required. Phone, Location, Status and Source are optional. Status should be active, inactive or hired.

Clients: Name is required. Industry, Website, Location and Status are optional.

Column names can be written either way, for example First Name or first_name.

How do I run the import?

  1. Open the import page for candidates or clients.
  2. Upload your CSV file. Files can be up to 10 MB.
  3. Check the number of rows found, then start the import. When it finishes, any rows that could not be imported are listed with the reason.

Try a small file of 50 to 100 rows first, check the results, then import the rest.

What about duplicates and CVs?

Each imported candidate is checked against your existing candidates by email, phone and name, and likely duplicates are flagged for you to review rather than skipped. A CSV cannot carry files, so upload CVs separately with bulk CV upload on the Candidates page, which reads each CV into a profile.
